The cost of writing code is dropping to zero. This means many things individually and collectively as a system, or more like a structure or keystone of how things work today, fades and eventually disappears.

A key constraint is being deleted.

Now, and even more so in the future, anyone who needs a piece of software to automate or create leverage will be able to create one for themselves.

Everyone, almost everyone, can bake their own bread, yet the majority of us that eat bread buy it in a package, pre-sliced.

(There are still bakeries. There are still master bakers who create a bread that is sublime, that people line up for on a Saturday morning to get hot out of the oven.)

Some businesses will survive and thrive with software that is pre-packaged and ready to go.

Some will still need to line up to customize existing software or get something new.

Many will decide to become bakers as the cost of making their own software shifts from paying to have it built to defining the problems to be solved and the solutions to those problems.

Buy your own software if out of the package it needs minimal changes. Doing anything more than putting peanut butter and jelly on the bread and then putting the two pieces of bread together requires hiring a baker or making your own.
